Is this the most dangerous Wii accessory so far?
Way back in 2006, there was a spate of media reports about new Wii owners damaging their TVs, prized furniture, elderly relatives and/or pets after losing their grip on a remote while playing Wii Sports Bowling. Nintendo, to its credit, took the problem in hand, first mailing out beefier remote wriststraps to all owners, then following that up with rubberized grips for even more security. But this bowling ball controller, from third-party firm CTA Digital, could take the cake.
Says the official web site: "This Wii peripheral is the first of its kind to be fashioned after an authentic bowling ball, turning your wii-mote into the optimum performance-enhancing accessory! To operate simply ...plug the three holes with your fingers, as you would a bowling ball. Lastly, make sure to wear the wrist strap securely around your wrist, this will prevent the ball from accidently flying out of your hand...Even though holding and bowling the ball is so like-like[sic] to the actual sport, never, ever release the ball!!"
Uh, yeah. Nothing bad could ever come of this.
What's that, CTA Digital? "CTA Digital, Inc. is not and will not be held responsible for any damages resulting from the bowling ball attachment," you say? No, we're not too surprised to hear that. We haven't actually tried out this wrecking ball of a peripheral, but we're dying to...just as soon as we find a TV that we dislike sufficiently.
Constitutional Court wraps up hearings, election results pending
After five weeks of almost non-stop hearings, the Constitutional Court announced it had resolved all 71 lawsuits involving almost 600 election dispute cases, leaving the national legislative election results pending.
The court partly granted up to 27 lawsuits from political parties as well as regional representative council members.
“We’ve carried out hearings day and night. Disagreements on our decision are bound to happen, but the court’s decisions are final and binding,” Constitutional Court chief Mahfud MD said Wednesday.
Incomplete, unclear, mixed up and inconsistent evidences as well as poor coordination between plaintiffs and their lawyers had often sparked controversy during hearings, Mahfud said.
“More than 50 percent of the evidence provided to us was either incomplete or unclear. We could opt to reject the evidence, but in the name of substantive justice, the Court was willing to process such evidence,” he said.
The court ordered the General Elections Commission (KPU) carry out election reruns and vote recounts in several areas such as South Nias, North Sumatra; Rokan Hulu, Riau; Yahukimo, Papua; and Tulang Bawang, Lampung, because of various election violations.
On June 11, the court also ordered the KPU to revise the national legislative election results after it found the results had been based on a misinterpretation of the official legislative seat allocation method. The verdict could lead to some 26 legislators losing their seats in the House of Representatives.
The court also recorded the longest hearing day: On May 28, the hearing between the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the KPU lasted 17 hours
Aburizal lends plane to JK to campaign
The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Sat, 06/20/2009 6:25 PM | Presidential Election
Presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla said Saturday that he had borrowed a Boeing 737-800 plane from businessman Aburizal Bakrie to campaign in Papua, Bali and Central Java."Yes, Ical lent me this plane, for free," Kalla told Antara state news agency at Sentani Airport, Papua. Ical is Aburizal’s nickname.
Aburizal, currently chief welfare minister, is known as one of the supporters of incumbent Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
However, when asked, Kalla said that Aburizal supported him. "He has supported me for a long time." Kalla is chairman of the Golkar Party and Aburizal is one of Golkar’s leaders.
Earlier, it was reported that Aburizal, together with House of Representatives Speaker Agung Laksono and former Golkar chairman Akbar Tanjung had proposed to organize an earlier-than-planned congress of the Golkar Party to topple Kalla.
From Papua, Kalla and his entourage flew directly to Bali to conduct another campaign on the tourist island on Sunday morning. From Bali, Kalla is scheduled to fly to Central Java to conduct a series of campaigns in the province.

Blueprint for another Confederations Cup miracle (or how USA can beat Spain)
By Martin Rogers
Associated Press
Everything went right for the United States in the last round of Confederations Cup group play, both in its own game against Egypt and with other results that gave the team an unexpected passage through to the semifinals.
Against Spain, the stars will have to align even more for Bob Bradley's men to stand any hope against the reigning European champion. Here are a few steps the Americans can take to slightly increase the chances of what looks to be an impossible task.
1. Play Freddy Adu.
Banging the Adu drum won't do any good. Bradley simply isn't going to play him until he gets more regular club action under his belt. However, it should be remembered that the 20-year-old caused the Spanish a few concerns in a 1-0 friendly defeat in Santander last year, as Adu made an impact with his pace and imagination.
2. Hold your own in midfield.
Spain's plan will be built upon its magnificent midfield of Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso. That trio will be charged with controlling the game and setting up countless chances for the strike force of Fernando Torres and David Villa. USA midfielders Michael Bradley and Ricardo Clark must get physical and knock their awesome opponent off their stride or else the Americans will be completely overrun.
3. Take every chance.
Spain did not concede a single goal during its romp through Group A, seeing off New Zealand 5-0, Iraq 1-0 and South Africa 2-0. The U.S. faces a huge challenge in breaching that backline, but in any game, one or two chances should arise. That may be slim pickings, but failing to capitalize on any half-chances that come the USA's way could lead to a painful night.
4. Get lucky.
One thing is guaranteed in this game: Spain is going to move the ball at speed and stretch the USA defense whenever possible. Opportunities will certainly occur, and Torres and Villa are among the best in the world when it comes to finishing them off. Off-days for either of those sensational players are extremely rare, but Bradley's team sure could use one.
5. Hope the Spanish team bus gets lost on the way to the stadium.
Could be a long shot with this one, but with the unpredictable South African road system, who knows?

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen review.
Before I begin, I just want to say one thing. Do not stay through the credits after Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Nothing happens. What happens before they start however, is some of the biggest, most unbelievable effects I’ve ever seen in a movie. And the unbelievability doesn’t stop there! It’s infected it’s way into the acting, the plot, and the overall premise.
I could go on about how I thought the characters didn’t match up, or there wasn’t enough Soundwave. But I accept the movie for what it is. A clever attempt by massive corporations to hock merch. That’s the show I grew up with, and the only thing that hasn’t ‘transformed’.
I would like to thank Micheal Bay for his excessive use of the 360 spinning crane cam. All too often I wonder what the backs of characters look like in a conventional scene. And even if I do see them I keep wondering if they change when the dialog ping-pongs between characters. The nauseating spinning camera effect used in excess here keeps me informed.
I would also like to express my appreciation for the several consecutive shots of Megan Fox running away, in slow motion, from explosions. I’m certain that scientists will be able to extrapolate many books on information in the field of boob jiggling. There is just no other film in history that captures it here, and in so many angles.
So while it’s got all that going for it, I just wish I could have a cut of the film that features nothing but robot on robot carnage, which is usually the main reason I’m watching a movie in the first place.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen starts Wednesday everywhere. The film is 2 hours 20 minutes. And is rated PG-13 for Adult Language. Sexual content. Drug use. Violence. … That’s right. PG-13.

Delta Force: Xtreme 2
Delta Force Xtreme 2 is a first-person shooter where, as a part of the Delta Force Special Operations team, you must protect US interests by parachuting into various third-world countries and decimating a hodgepodge alliance of terrorists, drug smugglers, and Uzbek separatists. The game's primary appeal lies in huge multiplayer matches with vast, sprawling terrain and support for up to 150 players. However, in DFX2 even the multiplayer experience rarely rises above mediocre, while the single-player never even comes close. With gameplay and graphics that lag behind other military-themed shooters, Delta Force Xtreme 2 offers little to distinguish itself.
DFX2 follows the Delta Force formula of large, open maps and subpar graphics with a limited variety of simplistic textures. Even budget game caveats won’t prepare you for these graphics, which compare negatively to older military FPS games that sell for even less. Technically speaking, the game doesn't seem to have advanced much beyond 2005's Delta Force Xtreme, which certainly wasn't ahead of its time. As a result, the absurd physics destroy any sense of realism by making vehicles feel like bumper cars, while weapon recoil is comparable to your average super soaker.
In multiplayer, nobody plays the terrorist; instead, everyone looks the same, and you can only identify your teammates by the presence of names above their heads. The advertised 150-player limit for games seems to be mostly theoretical--you'll be lucky to play on a server with one-third of that number. Similarly, the 40 multiplayer maps are mostly variations of the same batch of maps for the five different competitive game modes. Highlights include the King of the Hill and Capture the Flag game modes, in which good teamwork allows you to dominate the competition. You can hop into a vehicle even while carrying the flag, which is great fun, but given how tough it is to knock out any vehicle larger than a dirt bike, it's not so fun when the tables are turned. Helicopters are powerful, especially in the hands of a dedicated team, and are actually easy to fly, which makes them a favorite among vehicles. In general, death is waiting for you behind every polygon, and it will likely find you without warning and from long range because the giant outdoor maps are a sniper's paradise.
Although you can choose among 22 different weapons, including such accessories as flashbangs and satchel charges, the sniper rifle is supreme in DFX2's large, open settings, so be prepared to keep your head down. One minor multiplayer annoyance is the minimap, which can get cluttered and confusing, more so than in single-player. Speaking of single-player, the campaigns are also available for cooperative play, but the difficulty doesn't seem to scale, which makes the co-op mode too easy and no more fun than playing the campaigns alone. On the whole, multiplayer can be a fun experience, but it isn't anything special or new for the genre.
The single-player game consists of two campaigns that pit you against the culturally diverse members of the aforementioned international narco-terrorist network. The story that binds them together is barely coherent and revealed almost entirely in the pre-level mission briefings. Meanwhile, the enemies themselves seem similarly confused--you'll occasionally see them decked out in desert gear in the middle of a snowy map. Furthermore, the artificial intelligence, although preternaturally effective at long range, is a pushover up close and can be amazingly stupid in certain situations. For instance, if you shoot the driver of a vehicle, the passenger will calmly remain in his seat, apparently unaware of the certain death waiting nearby. Your AI squadmates aren't much better, given that they prefer to cower in the relative safety of a building while you single-handedly battle tanks and accomplish every mission objective.
The single-player game inexplicably uses a checkpoint save system, which thankfully becomes a bit less annoying when you realize that enemies tend to stay dead when you respawn. Even worse, you can't scavenge weapons from enemy corpses, so if you want a different weapon, such as a rocket launcher, to take out a helicopter or an armored personnel carrier, you have to die and change your weapons loadout to get it. Several times the game leaves you wondering what to do at the end of a mission. For instance, in the "oil leak" mission, you must kill every enemy on the map, but once that's accomplished, you'll be stuck until you realize that you have to destroy every unoccupied enemy truck as well. The final campaign mission is appropriately massive, but command's declaration that "the fate of the world" rests on you blowing up a fuel depot in North Africa is decidedly unconvincing.
While the real life Delta Force only recruits the best of the best, DFX2 seems content with mediocrity. It just doesn't excel at anything, and given the multitude of exceptional shooters on the PC, there is no reason to recommend it, even with its budget price tag. Unless you are a diehard fan of the series and just can't wait for next year's Delta Force: Angel Falls, you'd be better off spending your money elsewhereklik this link Delta Force: Xtreme 2
